About this policy

  1. This policy sets the content and traffic rules for the Services under the Admeking brand. Capitalised terms have the meaning given in the Definitions (ID DEFS) and in the Advertiser Terms (ID ADV-TERMS).

  2. It is part of the Advertiser Terms. Section C (supply methods) also applies to Publishers and Supply Partners and is part of the Publisher & Supply Terms. Other sections apply to Publishers where the Publisher & Supply Terms say so.

  3. The policy applies to every Ad, Route and Destination, to every offer a Rotating Route can deliver, and to every targeted country. Where the law of a targeted country is stricter than this policy, that law applies.

  4. The policy is organised in five sections:

    • A — content and methods that are always prohibited;
    • B — restricted categories that need prior approval;
    • C — prohibited supply and traffic methods;
    • D — technical requirements for Ads, Routes and Destinations;
    • E — privacy, consent, ad disclosure and minors.
  5. "Restricted" in Section B does not mean "unlawful". Many restricted categories are lawful where the advertiser holds the required licence and respects the limits that apply. Where we decline a lawful category, that is a commercial policy choice under the Admeking brand, not a statement about the law.

  6. How we review Campaigns, act on Signals, suspend Campaigns or Accounts, and how you can ask for a review, is set out in clauses 7, 9 and 18 of the Advertiser Terms and in the Publisher & Supply Terms. A breach of Section A is a serious breach for the purposes of those clauses.

  7. Anyone can report an Ad or Destination that appears to breach this policy at https://admeking.com/legal/report-abuse or [email protected].

  8. Under the Admeking brand we currently do not accept the following categories, as a commercial policy choice: weapons and ammunition (including related accessories), political and social-issue advertising, other regulated services.

A. Always prohibited

A.1 The following content and methods are prohibited in every Ad, Route and Destination, in every country and for every format. No approval can permit them.

A.2 Malicious software. Malware, spyware, ransomware, trojans, cryptominers running without informed consent, and any code that exploits a vulnerability in a browser, operating system or device.

A.3 Phishing and credential theft. Pages or messages designed to obtain passwords, payment card data, one-time codes, seed phrases, wallet keys or other credentials, or identity documents, under false pretences.

A.4 Fraudulent or deceptive software. Software that misrepresents its function, publisher or price; software that installs other software without clear disclosure; software that changes browser settings, search engines or homepages without clear consent; and software that cannot be uninstalled in the normal way.

A.5 Forced downloads. Downloads that start without the user's deliberate action, downloads triggered by a click on something other than a clearly labelled download control, and downloads repeated after the user declined.

A.6 Fake system and security messages. Content that imitates operating system, browser, device, security software, messaging or payment-provider dialogs, alerts or notifications, for example fake virus warnings, fake update prompts, fake battery or memory alerts, fake missed calls or messages, or fake prize notifications presented as system messages.

A.7 Deceptive permission requests. Requests for browser notification, location, camera, microphone or similar permissions obtained through misleading statements, such as fake CAPTCHAs, fake age checks or fake video players that require "allow" to continue.

A.8 Child sexual abuse and exploitation. Any content that sexualises minors, and any content that depicts, promotes or facilitates the exploitation or abuse of minors. We report such content to the competent authorities.

A.9 Other illegal content and products. Content or products that are illegal in a targeted country, including illegal drugs, counterfeit goods, stolen data, illegal weapons and explosives, human trafficking, non-consensual intimate imagery, incitement to violence or hatred, and terrorist content.

A.10 Scams. Offers that promise money, prizes or returns that are not provided; fake investment schemes; fake endorsements by public figures, media or authorities; impersonation of brands, public bodies or other people; and subscription or billing traps where the charge is hidden or not clearly explained before the user commits.

A.11 Cloaking. Showing reviewers, review systems or Supply Partners content that differs materially from what users see where the difference hides a breach of the law or of this policy, and any other conduct described in clause 9.4 of the Advertiser Terms.

A.12 Circumvention. Evading a rejection, suspension or termination, or our enforcement systems, for example by opening new accounts, rotating domains, changing Routes, or acting through another Customer Agent.

A.13 Falsified events. Fabricating, inflating, suppressing or altering impressions, clicks, conversions, postbacks or other events, or manipulating reporting or optimisation by any other means.

B. Restricted categories

B.1 Common requirements. A Campaign in a restricted category may run only if all of the following are met:

  1. it has our prior approval for that category, recorded in the Campaign Declaration;
  2. the advertiser holds every licence, registration or authorisation the category requires in each targeted country, and gives us evidence on request;
  3. it targets only countries where the product may lawfully be advertised to the audience reached;
  4. it respects the age limits in B.3 and Section E;
  5. the Ads and Destination meet the category rules in B.2;
  6. the Supply Partners concerned accept the category; we may limit delivery to inventory that does.

B.2 Categories and specific rules.

  1. Gambling. Casino, sports and other betting, poker, lotteries, bingo, and other games of chance for money or prizes of money's worth. The operator must be licensed for each targeted country. Destinations must show the licence, age limits and responsible-gambling information required locally. Ads must not present gambling as a way out of financial difficulty or as a source of income.
  2. Social casino and skill games for prizes. Games without a cash-out, and games of skill with prizes. The Destination must state clearly whether real money can be won or lost.
  3. Financial services. Loans and credit, credit repair, debt services, insurance, investment services, trading in securities, foreign exchange, contracts for difference and other derivatives. The provider must be authorised in each targeted country. Ads must show the cost or risk information required locally and must not promise guaranteed returns.
  4. Crypto-assets. Exchanges, wallets, brokers, token sales, mining and staking services. The provider must hold the authorisation or registration required in each targeted country. Ads must not promise guaranteed returns and must include the risk information required locally.
  5. Health. Prescription and over-the-counter medicines, pharmacies, medical devices, telemedicine, clinics and treatments, cosmetic procedures, food supplements, and weight-loss products. Prescription medicines may be advertised only where the law of the targeted country allows advertising to the audience reached. Health claims must be lawful and substantiated; Ads must not claim to cure serious diseases or use before-and-after images where the law prohibits them.
  6. Adult content. Sexually suggestive or explicit content, adult entertainment and sexual-wellness products. Explicit content may appear only on Destinations behind an age gate and on inventory that accepts it. Ads must meet the content rules of the inventory on which they appear.
  7. Dating. Dating and relationship services, including adult dating. Ads must not use images of people presented as available members unless they are, and must disclose paid features and subscriptions before sign-up.
  8. Alcohol. Alcoholic beverages and related services, subject to the age and content rules of each targeted country.
  9. Tobacco, e-cigarettes and related products. Where advertising is lawful at all in a targeted country, and subject to its age rules.
  10. Cannabis and CBD. Only products that are lawful in each targeted country, without unlawful health claims.
  11. Mobile content and carrier billing. Subscriptions charged to the mobile bill. The price, billing frequency and how to cancel must be shown clearly before the user commits.
  12. Software downloads and utilities. Browser extensions, VPNs, antivirus, cleaners and other utilities. Section D.3 applies in full.
  13. Sweepstakes and prize promotions. Only lawful promotions with real prizes, disclosed conditions and, where required, disclosed odds.
  14. Political and social-issue advertising. Only where the law of the targeted country allows it and every transparency and labelling duty that applies is met.
  15. Weapons, ammunition and related accessories. Only lawful products, subject to the law of each targeted country.
  16. Other regulated services. Services for which the targeted country requires a licence or registration to offer them, such as legal, immigration, education or charity fundraising services, and services that resemble official government services.

B.3 Age and geography. Campaigns in categories 1 to 10 of B.2 and in any other category where the law sets an age limit must not target minors, must target only countries where the advertising is lawful, and must use the age gates and audience settings that are available to exclude minors.

B.4 Approval is per category, per country and per Destination. A licence for one country does not cover another. An approval for one offer does not cover a different offer in the same category, unless it is within an approved Route Schedule.

C. Prohibited supply and traffic methods

C.1 This section applies to Advertisers and their Customer Agents, and to Publishers and Supply Partners under the Publisher & Supply Terms.

C.2 The following methods are prohibited:

  1. Automated traffic. Impressions, clicks or conversions generated by bots, scripts, crawlers, emulators, device farms or click farms.
  2. Spoofing. Misrepresenting the domain, app, placement, device, location, user agent or seller of inventory.
  3. Hidden ads. Ads that cannot be seen by the user, such as stacked ads, zero-size or off-screen frames, pixel stuffing, and ads loaded in hidden windows.
  4. Fabricated or misattributed conversions. Cookie stuffing, click injection, click spamming, fake installs, and taking credit for conversions that the traffic did not cause.
  5. Deceptive redirects. Redirects the user did not initiate and could not expect from the format, redirects that hijack the back button, and redirect loops that prevent the user from leaving.
  6. Inventory without rights. Selling or reselling inventory without the right to do so, or misrepresenting the seller's relationship to the inventory.
  7. Undisclosed incentives. Offering users rewards for viewing or clicking Ads without disclosing it to us.
  8. Deceptively obtained subscriptions. Push or other subscriber lists built through practices described in A.6 or A.7.
  9. Manipulation of measurement. Interfering with our measurement, IVT filtering, or the measurement of Supply Partners or verification providers.

C.3 What is not prohibited by itself. The following are not Invalid Traffic in themselves:

  1. redirect, popunder and other traffic that the user receives in the normal way for the format bought;
  2. incentivised traffic, where it is disclosed to us and the Campaign or Supply Partner agreement allows it;
  3. traffic from domain redirects, parked domains or similar sources, where it is disclosed and the Campaign allows it.

Such traffic becomes Invalid Traffic if it is misrepresented, falls under C.2, or does not come from a real user's genuine interest.

D. Technical requirements

D.1 Declared Routes. Every hop in a Route must be declared in the Campaign Declaration, or fall within a declared tracker domain. No hop may change the content category or the offer except within an approved Route Schedule.

D.2 Declared domains. The initial domain and every final domain must be declared. A new final domain outside the approved Campaign Declaration or Route Schedule needs approval before use.

D.3 Downloads. Where a Destination offers a download:

  1. the Ad or Destination must say clearly that a download is offered and what it is;
  2. the download must start only after the user deliberately chooses it;
  3. the software must identify its publisher, do what it says, be free of malware and bundled unwanted software, and be removable in the normal way;
  4. the download must be declared in the Campaign Declaration, and a change of the software is a Material Campaign Change.

D.4 No hidden change after approval. Ads, Routes and Destinations must not change after approval in a way that is a Material Campaign Change or that would breach this policy, whether the change is made by you, by a Customer Agent, or by a system acting on a schedule, location, device or other condition.

D.5 Reviewability. Routes and Destinations must be reviewable on request. On request you must provide route evidence as described in clause 9.9 of the Advertiser Terms, including test access where a Destination is restricted by country, device or login.

D.6 Rotating Routes. Smartlinks, offer walls and other Rotating Routes are allowed. Each must operate within an approved Route Schedule that states the categories, offers or offer types, final domains and targeted countries it may deliver. An offer outside the Route Schedule must not be delivered.

D.7 Ad and landing behaviour. Ads and Destinations must:

  1. match each other: the Destination must offer what the Ad presents;
  2. let the user leave, close or go back without obstruction;
  3. not open repeated windows, dialogs or full-screen loops to trap the user;
  4. not play audio automatically in a way the format does not allow;
  5. load and work in the targeted countries and devices.

D.8 Push and in-page notifications. Notification Ads must identify the advertiser or product truthfully and must not imitate personal messages, missed calls, system alerts or delivery notifications.

D.9 Tracking parameters. URLs and conversion signals must not contain Personal Data in clear text, such as email addresses, phone numbers or names, and must use only the identifiers we specify.

E.1 Privacy information. Every Destination that collects Personal Data must give the user clear privacy information, name the party responsible for the data, and state the purposes and legal basis.

E.2 Consent. Where the law requires consent, including for storing or reading information on a user's device and for direct marketing, the Destination must obtain it before the processing starts, and it must be as easy to withdraw as to give. Permission to show browser notifications is not consent to profiling, tracking or the sharing of data with third parties.

E.3 Sensitive data. Ads must not imply knowledge of a user's health, sexual orientation, religion, political opinions, ethnic origin, financial hardship or other sensitive characteristics. Destinations must not collect special categories of Personal Data unless the law permits it and the user has been clearly informed.

E.4 Ad disclosure. Ads must be recognisable as advertising. They must not be disguised as editorial content, news, user reviews, system messages or personal communications. Advertorials and native Ads must carry the label the format or the law requires, and the advertiser must not remove or obscure a label added by us or a Supply Partner.

E.5 Endorsements and reviews. Testimonials, reviews, ratings and endorsements must be genuine, must reflect the real experience of the person named, and must disclose any payment or other relationship where the law requires it.

E.6 Minors. Ads must not target minors in any restricted category or for any product with an age limit. Ads for such products must not appeal particularly to minors through their content, characters or style. Campaigns must not use profiling to target users known or likely to be minors. Destinations for age-restricted products must use an age check appropriate to the product and the targeted country.

E.7 Data received through the Services. Data received through the Services may be used only as the Data Protection Terms allow.
